About me

Hello and welcome to my personal profile. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP accreditated) Alongside my private practice I work children and young people in Primary and Secondary Schools for a service called Relate. I have a passion to work with this particular client group as I’ve noticed they tend to struggle with managing and regulating their emotions. I have a range of skills that I utilise to counter emotional distress through Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. The focus of sessions includes assessment, identifying and teaching relevant coping strategies, building resilience, confidence and empowerment, addressing maladaptive and challenging thoughts and behaviours.

My sessions consist of assessment, this includes parents if the young person is under the age of 14. The aim of the assessment is to identify what difficulties the child/young person is experiencing and their suitability for CBP. Also, it is important to identify what maintains the problems and break down cycles that maintain the childs/young persons emotional distress. Goals will be identified at assessment and treatment sessions will focus on meeting them. Depending on the age of the child, therapy may include parents/carers being involved to help the child/young person overcome their difficulties if appropriate.

Please do feel free to contact me for a brief consultation as it is important to feel comfortable with the therapist
