About me

I am a consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who graduated in Medicine with a Distinction from the University of Leeds in 2004. I have also accomplished a 1st Class honours degree in Clinical Sciences from the University of Leeds.

I completed a structured ophthalmology training program in the well renowned Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

My specialist interest is Medical Retina related diseases and Minimally Invasive Cataract surgery. I pursued a Fellowship in Moorfields Eye Hospital, London which allowed vast exposure to research and clinical experience in Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), eye diseases related to Diabetes (Diabetic Macular Oedema, Non-Proliferative and Proliferative diabetic Retinopathy), Retinal Vascular Occlusions, Infectious and Non-Infectious Inflammatory Eye Diseases.

My main passions are retinal diseases and minimally invasive cataract surgery. I left Moorfields Eye Hospital to take up the Ophthalmology Consultant position in Royal United Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

I am the lead for diabetic retinopathy screening through my NHS consultant position at Royal United Bath NHS Foundation Trust. My team have received accolades such as Team of the Month Award at the RUH. I am heavily involved in teaching and training to ensure excellent care is given to the diabetic population.

As a lead for ophthalmology teaching, I support Bristol medical students at The University of Bristol. I organise one-to-one as well as group teaching to enhance students on the subject of eye-related diseases. I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and continuous professional development.
