About me

Mr Cumming is a fellowship trained orthopaedic spinal surgeon with seven years’ experience as a consultant in Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. In clinical practice he is involved in treating adult spinal conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. He regularly performs spinal surgery on all areas of the spine for acute, degenerative and traumatic conditions, including minimally invasive surgery. Mr Cumming has been the Clinical Lead for spinal services in Ipswich for the past five years. During his time as a consultant he has worked with NHS England to develop best practice in spinal surgery across the country with the CRG and the Improving Spinal Care Project.He is the current Secretary of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and has been involved with the society in developing guidelines and organising national meetings. Mr Cumming is also Chair of the East of England Regional Spinal Network.
