About me

I have been a consultant general and gastro-intestinal surgeon in Warrington since 1995. My gastro-intestinal practice is broadly based but more focused on the upper GI tract. Outside GI work, I am regularly involved with general paediatric surgery, thyroid surgery and with management of complex hernias. Gastro-oesophageal reflux is a major interest and I provide a service for all aspects of management. This includes investigation (endoscopy, oesophageal manometry, 24 hour oesophageal pH study), surgical treatment (anti-reflux surgery) and endoscopic management of complications (oesophageal stricture, Barrett's oesophagus). I assess and treat oesophageal motility disorders such as cardial achalasia. My laparoscopic work includes laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic antireflux surgery and laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. My adult hernia work also includes management of incisional hernia and recurrent hernias. In the paediatric surgical field, I manage phimosis, inguinal hernia and testicular maldescent.
