About me

I have been a consultant general and gastro-intestinal surgeon since 1995. My speciality is Upper Gastro-intestinal Surgery and I have extensive experience of laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques.

I carry out surgery for gallstone disease, including surgical treatment of common bile duct stones. Gastro-oesophageal reflux is a major interest and I provide a service for all aspects of management. This includes investigation (endoscopy, oesophageal manometry, 24 hour oesophageal pH study), surgical treatment (anti-reflux surgery) and endoscopic management of complicated disease (oesophageal stricture, Barrett's oesophagus). I assess and treat oesophageal motility disorders such as cardial achalasia.

I also specialise in surgery for abdominal hernias including inguinal, femoral. umbilical and ventral hernias.

I carry out general paediatric surgery including procedures for phimosis, inguinal hernia and testicular maldescent.
