- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
I am a professionally trained, qualified and experienced Counsellor, specialising in Cognitive Behaviour Therapist.
I hold a qualification in Counselling Skills, certified by COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (BACP accredited).
I have been working as a therapist since 2012. Since this time, I have been fortunate enough to work with a diverse range of individuals from all walks of life and various organisations from the public; private; and voluntary sectors. I love working; communicating and engaging with individuals to help alleviate any issues that may be causing emotional distress. Just some of the issues that I have worked with individuals, on a one to one basis, to address are abuse, anxiety, depression, eating disorders low self confidence, low self esteem, marital difficulties, stress and post-traumatic stress.
Every situation in our lives creates a chain reaction of thoughts, feelings and behaviours – leading us at times to “get stuck” in a vicious cycle from which we cannot break free. The longer you are stuck in this vicious cycle the more you will feel unhappy, anxious, depressed, sad or helpless.
As your therapist, I will help you to understand YOUR chain reaction of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will work collaboratively with you to help you become self aware and mindful. Over the course of the therapy sessions I will equip you with the tools, techniques and long term coping strategies that will help you to break free from the vicious cycles, allowing you to be in control of your own happiness.
Post treatment communication
Following treatment of a Bupa member, I will communicate with GPs in line with Department of Health, GMC and appropriate professional bodies guidelines.
