About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. I am an accredited psychotherapist offering a gentle and sensitive approach. I refer to myself as an intergrative therapist which basically means that I have undertaken training in various approaches so I can offer you a bespoke service. I am also trained in EMDR levels 1 to 3 which is a model in it's own right. People come to see me who need support in a wide range of areas such as depression, grief, ptsd, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self esteem and more. I am passionate about the work I do and therefore, I only hold a small case load so that I can really get to know you as a person.

I have had the fortune to have trained in a variety of approaches which have served to strengthen my understanding of some of the difficulties clients come to see me with.

I have extensive understanding and knowledge with regards to the impact of neuro-science on the body and brain and I am very attuned to clients levels of arousal. In being so, I will keep you in what is known as your window of tolerance. This helps to keep you in an emotionally regulated state so that you do not become overwhelmed in our sessions and therefore, you will be able to notice what thoughts, memories, body sensation, emotions, and external cues triggered a physical response leading to panic, anxiety, anger, sadness, numbness and more.

I offer psychoeducation within our sessions as I have experienced clients to find this invaluable and will help you to make sense of any confusing thoughts, feelings, internal conflicts.

Additionally, I can incorporate EMDR, a specialist approach which research has proven can bring about rapid results for trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias etc. One of my other passions is working with clients who are experiencing the symptoms of development trauma and attachment difficulties.

My initial training as a humanistic therapist spanned over four years and required regular training in empathy groups. As well as being genuine and holding the quality of non judgement. I have a very open and accepting presence as I believe as humans, we all are doing the best with what life throws at us.

COVID19: During the current situation of uncertainty and loneliness of social distancing, I am able to offer you alternative online sessions, please contact me for more information.
