About me
Qualified MB BCh 1983, Welsh School of Medicine, I studied and trained in General medicine with special interest in cardiology and endocrinology; in general surgery with placements in paediatric surgery, thyroid surgery and general surgery. I then trained in the speciality of Ear Nose & Throat surgery at Bristol Royal Infirmary (1986-7), University Hospital of Wales Cardiff (1987-8, 1989-92, 1993-4) Royal Gwent Hospital Newport (1988-9), Groote Schuur Hospital Cape Town, South Africa (1992-3).
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) and England (FRCS), and was awarded my MPhil for research in 1990. I am also a member of the Royal Society of Medicine, the British Cochlear Implant Group (previous member of council and Treasurer), ENT UK, British Society of Otology and BMA.
I have a special interest in audiology and otology, voice disorders and in paediatric ENT. I run special interest multi-disciplinary NHS clinics in paediatric ENT (I am lead paediatric ENT surgeon at UHW), cochlear implants and voice disorders.
