About me

Mr Matthew Welck is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who exclusively specialises in foot and ankle surgery.
His specialist interests include ankle arthritis and replacement and foot deformity..
He is double fellowship trained. He also undertook a combined clinical and research fellowship at the internationally renowned Foot and Ankle Institute, Baltimore, USA under Dr Mark Myerson.
He is a consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, a national centre of excellence dealing with complex cases that have been referred from centres all over the United Kingdom. He works closely with radiologists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, chiropodists, specialist nurses, orthotics and anaesthetists to provide optimum care to patients. His research and teaching is recognised both nationally and internationally. He is also on the British and European Foot and Ankle Society Committees.
