About me

Anne-Marie Lewis, Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) , HCPC & BPS registered, Registered Mindfulness teacher and supervisor

Anne-Marie has worked in the counseling and psychology field for over 25 years, principally in the NHS. She currently works in the charitable sector (young people aged 12-25) and privately. As a counselling psychologist she has been trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. She has a preference for third wave CBT approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy and mindfulness based cognitive therapy. She is currently working towards accreditation as a EMDR practitioner. She is a qualified mindfulness teacher and supervisor.
Anne-Marie has extensive experience working with clients who are troubled by a range of difficulties including depression and different anxiety problems such as obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and complex trauma, health anxiety and panic.

For the past 10 years Anne-Marie has worked at a charity called Open Door in Crouch End for teenagers and young adults specializing in the treatment of anxiety such as exam anxiety to more complex problems related to negotiating the developmental challenges of adolescence.

Anne-Marie works sensitively and respectively with all ethnicities, cultures, and sexualities. Her approach centralizes the reciprocal interaction between a client and herself to enable emotional and psychological healing.
