About me

Mr Malek's main interests are minimally invasive surgery, computer navigated knee and hip replacements, enhanced recovery after surgery, revision hip and knee surgery and patient reported outcomes.

He qualified from India in 2002 and completed basic surgical training from Mersey Deanery in 2005. He is proud to be a product of the prestigious Welsh Orthopaedic Training Programme. He had a special interest in hip and knee replacement procedures since his initial training years - and he performed nearly four times more replacement procedures than expected from an average orthopaedic trainee at the end of their training.

His pursuit of surgical excellence and finesse took him to South Australia in the footsteps of his mentors for a prestigious fellowship in adult joint reconstruction, recognised by the Australian Orthopaedic Association in Adelaide. This once in a lifetime experience in a different health system with world renowned surgeons provided him with an opportunity to further consolidate his skills and experience in innovative orthopaedic practices. He joined Wrexham Maelor Hospital on his return in January 2018.

He is a strong advocate of 'patient centred orthopaedic care' and this is reflected by the feedback of his patients. https://www.iwantgreatcare.org/doctors/mr-ibrahim-malek
