About us

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with specialist expertise in Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), PTSD, Dissociation and Complex Trauma. I am also trained in EMDR.
I began my training in CFT back in 2007 and have been lucky to work closely with the originator of this approach, Professor Paul Gilbert. I have been a Clinical Supervisor and Associate Lecturer on the Post Graduate Diploma in CFT at The University of Derby since 2012.
I have spent most of my career in Secondary Care adult mental health settings within the NHS. I have extensive experience of working with people who have suffered difficulties relating to Complex Trauma, Dissociative Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.
From 2016 -2018 I had the relatively unique privilege of providing psychological support to ‘survivors’ within the context of a large-scale historical abuse investigation.
Since February 2019 I have been co-delivering a CFT group for people with Bipolar Disorder as part of a research investigation which is a joint venture between The Compassionate Mind Foundation and the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
