I am registered as a Chartered Health Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and as an ACT Therapist with the Association of Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS).
I am also a registered Hypnotherapist.
I have 12 years of post-qualification experience.
My approach is based mainly on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based therapy, to which I add psychodynamic and humanistic techniques.
The approach I take is very much tailored to the individual person and the nature of the problem that they are experiencing. Using an integrative approach that will focus on acceptance and valued based action, we will focus on helping you clarify what’s important for you in life and make choices that are aligned with the person you want to be.
Having experienced immigration myself, I have a special interest in how culture, dynamics and spirituality play a role in our well-being.
Prior to private practice, I have worked with people of all ages in primary care, in an inpatient and out-paytient psychosomatic unit specializing in medically unexplained symptoms, and in different in-patient settings of a large hospital, where I was responsible for development and implementation of psychological assessments and treatment plans for patients with different chronic and acute conditions.
I am a certified Hypnotherapist and trained in applying physiological interventions such as Biofeedback and mindfulness based interventions
