About me

I Dr. Rupesh Adimulam have been working as a consultant psychiatrist in General adult Psychiatry since May 2011. I have a special interest in neuropsychiatry and I have been running a neuropsychiatry clinic at the Broomfield hospital, Chelmsford for the last 4 years as my special interest. I also managed perinatal psychiatry inpatient unit over a year from 2012-2013.
My expertise is in treating and managing a wide range of psychiatric illness such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorders, Obsessive Compulsive disorders, Sleep disorders, Adult ADHD, PTSD, Schizophrenia and Neuropsychiatric disorders. I am committed to the patients care and welfare. My main focus is helping the patients recover from their illnesses and attain functional abilities to their best.

In addition to my clinical expertise I have an enormous interest in teaching and training. I have been doing teaching in MRCpsych teaching programme and the CASC examinations preparation course at the Anglia Ruskin University. I delivered various lectures to the General practitioners about the bipolar disorder. I also delivered lectures about the neuropsychiatry in the regional SPR teaching and conferences. I have been a panel member for the selection of medical students. I have been ARCP panel member since 2012 in the Eastern Deanery. I did take part as a panel member in CT1 trainee recruitment in 2013 and National Psychiatry trainee recruitment in 2015 and 2016.I have been actively contributing to the question paper writing for the MRCPsych exams since 2014.I have been coordinating the local PDP programme since December 2013.I did my higher training in the Eastern deanery and I have fairly good understanding of eastern deanery. I have good standing certificate for the CPD purpose. I wait to apply to become the college examiner for the CASC.
In addition to teaching I have an interest in quality improvement. I have been local MAC chair since January 2015.I was deputy chair for a year before. I am the medical lead in the infection control board and I have been actively involved in Flu vaccination campaign in our trust. I also have been LNC member since January 2015.I coordinated audits organised by the Royal College locally. I was an active contributor to development of ward review summary document and discharge summary improvement groups. Recently I took up the role as a guardian of safe working hours and I discharge my duties to ensure the compliance of the junior doctors’ rota with safety requirements. I also have been working with the college as a specialty representative for the general adult psychiatry and neuropsychiatry for the one and half years and I scrutinised various job descriptions of the consultant psychiatrists and specialty doctors. I did a training course with the college to take part in consultant psychiatrists’ job interview panel as a college member.
