About me

Miss Anca Marinescu qualified as a doctor in Bucharest, Romania and as a specialist in ophthalmology in 1997 at the Ophthamiatrio Hospital in Athens, Greece. She then completed sub-speciality training in medical retina, A&E, cataract and general ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She is one of a few specialists to have completed several different fellowships. She has 21 years experience in a major NHS London eye hospital.
Miss Marinescu specialises in comprehensive ophthalmology ranging from blepharitis, dry eyes to complex eye conditions including neurological disorders.
Many patients are referred when their condition is unclear and Miss Marinescu has extensive experience of diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions with the latest treatments.
Miss Marinescu has expertise in identifying patients at risk of diabetic retinopathy and caring for patients with hypertension, thyroid eye disease and glaucoma.
Wherever possible Miss Marinescu tries to offer a one-stop clinic with holistic eye care.

Areas of interest

Comprehensive ophthalmology including dry eyes, corneal, conjunctiva, blepharitis, eyelids, cataract, floaters, retinal conditions, glaucoma, inflammatory and neurological conditions including headaches and stress;
Visual field defects; diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy; thyroid and other endocrinological conditions;
If you have an eye problem and you don’t know the cause I can be a good alternative to waiting four hours at A&E.
I can arrange timed appointments most evenings at LycaHealth where I can diagnose, treat or direct you quickly to an appropriate colleague. This will save you time and stress as you’ll have access to a highly experienced eye specialist at short notice.
NB: if you have a serious injury to your eye, intense redness, pain and/or blurred vision you should go straight to your nearest casualty department;
Very experienced treating international patients.
