About me

Dr Magee is a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton. He was initially appointed to a substantive consultant post at the Royal Brompton Hospital in 1999 and was trained at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto and Guy’s Hospital London. He has particular interests in the interventional catheter treatment of congenital heart disease together with the training and support of interventional congenital cardiologists in the third world. He has edited a textbook in Paediatric Cardiology on the subject of Practical Paediatric Cardiology: case based management of Potential Pitfalls and is the author of 44 scientific papers. He is past chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee for UK Paediatric Cardiology training at the Royal College of Physicians and is the current President of the British Congenital Cardiac Association. He is also a Trustee of the charity Chain of Hope which treats children’s heart disease in developing countries and has led over 20 medical missions with this charity over the past 12 years.
