I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and an EMDR therapist accredited by the BACP.
I specialise in working with adult survivors of childhood abuse and survivors of trauma and can support you to better understand the root of your depression, anxiety, relationship worries, work worries or whatever else is on your mind.
I do this by integrating different theories and approaches according to your needs. Essentially together we will look back to see what has been happening in your life, to identify why you might be thinking, feeling and behaving the way you do now, to work on how to adapt these patterns to move forward. The moving forward bit is key. Therapy can help you to make sense of things so you can move forward, be free from those underlying worries and live a more peaceful and fulfilled life.
I won't just sit and say nothing! Although therapy isn't about giving advice what I can do is give you information and feedback and show you different ways of looking at things.
It's important that you find the right therapist - I am happy to meet with you free of charge for a 30 minute chat (either face to face or over the phone) to discuss what might be worrying you and an opportunity for you to hear more about how therapy works.
Sessions are 50 - 60 minutes and usually weekly but can be arranged to suit your needs either at your home or one of the locations I work from (Ilkeston, Nottingham and Mansfield).
