About me

I am a trained Registered General Nurse, who specialised in Cardiac nursing. I began training in psychological therapy in 2004.I am a qualified Person Centred therapist (counsellor). I have a Degree in nursing and counselling and a Post Graduate Certificate in CBT. I am an Accredited CBT therapist and am trained in Interpersonal Therapy. In addition to this, I have completed my training in EMDR therapy. I work primarily in the NHS as a therapist, working with adults with varying severities of depression and complexity, as well as working with adults with a range of anxiety disorders, such as generalised anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder, social phobia, general phobias, obessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress. I also work specifically with clients, who have long term health conditions as part of my NHS work.
I am currently training as a CBT supervisor. I hope to be more involved with the education of trainee CBT therapists, in the future ,as I also enjoy teaching, as well as delivering therapy.

Areas of interest

I have a special interest in working with adults with depression and anxiety. I particularly enjoy trauma focused work and hence, I have also pursued further training in this area and undertaken training in EMDR therapy.
