About me

Dr.Mahida is a consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He specializes in management of heart rhythm disorders and complex catheter ablation procedures, including procedures for treatment of atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia. He is the departmental lead for the ventricular arrhythmia service.

Dr.Mahida manages all conditions that affect the heart rhythm, including conditions that result in the heart beating too fast or the heart beating too slow. Heart rhythm disturbances typically cause palpitations. Other potential symptoms associated with heart rhythm abnormalities include collapses, shortness of breath and tiredness.

Dr.Mahida developed expertise in complex catheter ablation at a number of internationally recognized centres of excellence including Hôpital Haut-Lévêque in Bordeaux and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, which is a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Dr.Mahida also undertook postdoctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Dr.Mahida has published widely on complex ablation technologies and has led a number of multicentre research studies on latest ablation technologies. His areas of research include complex catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.

Dr Mahida sees private patients at Spire Liverpool Hospital and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
