About me

I have over twenty years of experience working in adult mental health and substance misuse services within the NHS, voluntary and private sector. I have a special interest in recurring Depression and Anxiety Disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have also worked extensively with diverse communities with complex mental health problems addressing social, cultural and language barriers to treatment using my bilingual skills in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. In addition to using Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I incorporate EMDR, Mindfulness, Compassion and Acceptance Therapies to help build empowerment and resilience in order for therapy to have a long-lasting impact.
