About me
I work at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough as a Consultant Neurosurgeon. My basic medical education (MBBS) was completed at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi – India’s premier medical school. I went on to complete an MD in Ophthalmology at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences. I came to the UK in July 2003 hoping to become a neurosurgeon.
I qualified, having passed the Intercollegiate FRCS in March 2011 and I gained entry into the Specialist Register in August 2012. I completed a fellowship in complex cerebrovascular and skull base surgery at Stanford University, USA and a visiting fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. I was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough in July 2012. I specialize in all aspects of cerebrovascular disease including cerebral revascularization, aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations, cavernomas, dural fistulas, tumours of the skull base and carnio-vertebral junction, intrinsic tumours of the brain and degenerative spinal conditions. Meningiomas of the brain and spine also interest me. I also routinely look after head and spinal injuries.
My predominant practice is within the NHS but I am available for private consultations and take instructions from solicitors for medico-legal reports in the fields of my specialization.
