About me
My name is Rebecca and I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years post-qualification experience of working with children, teenagers, and adults in the NHS and private sectors.
My areas of special interest include depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, self-esteem and the psychological impacts of physical health conditions including chronic pain and cancer for both children and adults.
For professionals working in Health, Education and other sectors, I also offer psychological consultation, supervision and training.
What to expect
I strongly believe in working collaboratively with individuals and families, creating a safe space to help people voice their concerns, work towards a shared understanding of their difficulties and move with hope and purpose towards their goals for mental and emotional wellbeing, using well-established, evidence-based psychological approaches to assessment and therapy.
I am trained and experienced in using a range of psychological therapies including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including Acceptance & Commitment therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Systemic Therapy
Solution-Focused Therapy
Narrative therapy
Child-centred play therapy approaches
Mindfulness-based therapy approaches
I have a great deal of experience of creatively adapting CBT-based therapies to make them relevant, accessible and engaging for children and young people.
I would be very happy to discuss my approach to psychological therapy with you in more detail to help you decide on the best help for you.
