About me

Having qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2009 I worked within an NHS adult psychological therapies service until 2014, providing individual and group therapy for people experiencing a range of mental health / psychological difficulties, specialising at that time in work around eating disorders and past trauma.

I have since moved from work within mental health services to work within NHS physical health services, offering psychological therapy input for people experiencing Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Cancer diagnoses.

My current NHS role now involves working with the psychological impact of chronic / persistent pain. This typically involves work around anxiety and depression, as well as work more broadly on identity, loss, adjustment and acceptance.

Within my clinical work I draw on a range of therapeutic models in order to tailor my work to the needs of the client. In general my work draws third-wave Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ( mindfulness based interventions and ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) as well as ideas from Compassion Focused Therapy.

I also have an interest in the psychological impact of past trauma and have experience of providing individual therapy focused on this. I am trained in EMDR ( Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing ) for work around the psychological impact of trauma.
