I offer a place where you are supported to understand your inner struggles, a place where you can find new ways to think and cope.
Due to the challenges presented by the COVID 19 outbreak, I have adapted my practice to offer counselling by video and telephone. The sessions work in the same way as face to face therapy; they are confidential, each session lasts for up to one hour and you decide how often you would like to talk.
Even though we can’t meet in person at the moment, it’s my role to support the development of a trusting relationship to help you express yourself in whatever way is right for you. By using my skills and experience the therapeutic relationship is built, helping you to find your own answers to the things you are struggling with.
I have been working as a counsellor for over 13 years and have a wide range of experience working with adults and young people who present with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, low self worth, relationship issues, self harm, physical, sexual and emotional abuse and loss. I also have experience in delivering therapeutic group work such as mindfulness and confidence building.
My experience has been gained by working in many different settings, including Changing Lives and Mind Wellbeing Service, which is Doncaster’s leading Mental Health Charity. I also have experience of working in Schools, Children’s Centres, along with Work Place Wellbeing and Insurance Companies.
My skills have continually been developed through my work, experience and training. I am competent in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) techniques and use an integrative approach, which means that I offer a variety of interventions in my work in order to support you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
If you have a safe place to speak at this difficult time, I can offer weekday appointments during the daytime and evening. I also offer an initial chat by video or phone to help you trust your inner guidance and find the right person to work with.
