I am an accredited cognitive & behavioural psychotherapist, accredited CBT supervisor and accredited EMDR practitioner. I am also a registered mental health nurse and graduate member of the British Psychological Society and currently work as a Head of Psychological Therapies and Clinical Lead within NHS primary care psychological therapy services. I have extensive experience working in the NHS, but I have also worked for 3 major Universities in research based Psychological Sciences and in the training of psychological therapists for the NHS psychological therapies programme (IAPT).
I have published in the international academic literature on the theory, science and practice of cognitive & behavioural therapies and have conducted work on a wide variety of anxiety and depression based problems. I am also a qualified therapist in the treatment of psychosis, of which I hold a masters degree and specialise in the treatment of trauma. I hold additional training in the application of cognitive & behavioural analysis system of psychotherapy (CBASP), an evidence based behavioural and cognitive therapy for the treatment of chronic and persistent depression.

I have an interest in the application of evidence based psychological therapies. I am interested in researching the effectiveness of psychological therapies to minority populations as well as the development and implementation of therapies in routine practice settings. I have published in the theory of knowledge underpinning CBT, the philosophy underpinning dialectical behaviour therapy and practice based evidence.
I am a keen cycler and enjoy the occasional swim.
