About me

I take the time to know a person and work collaboratively with family, significant others and healthcare/medical support. I pride myself on being approachable, empathetic and knowledgeable. I do not believe in a 'one box fits all' approach to disorders or communication needs."

Eleanor graduated as a Speech and Language Therapist & Audiologist in 1999 and received a postgraduate merit award for further studies in the field. She went on to gain an MA in Speech and Language Pathology in 2003 and an MSc in Forensic Science (2010). Eleanor has over 17 years' experience with adult and paediatric clients, both in the UK and abroad. She has worked extensively in London and the South of England, including contract posts with St. George's Hospital, University Hospital Southampton, Barts & The London, Frimley Park Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Brain Injury Foundation, Poole Hospital, Dorset County Hospital and Lymington Hospital. Eleanor has also provided training and support to newly qualified SLTs and other professionals, in a wide variety of settings. She has worked as a clinical tutor for speech, language and audiology students at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Areas of specialty within the field of adult neurology, include:

Aphasia, including Primary Progressive variant.
Parkinson's disease and other progressive neurological disorders (Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease etc)
Acquired brain injury
Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
Medico Legal cases
Training of relevant professionals (GPs, Nursing and Care staff etc)
Eleanor is also a certified LSVT-Loud clinician (intensive voice & speech therapy programme for Parkinson's and other related diseases).
