Mr. Handford graduated in Podiatry from University of Plymouth in 1993. Since then has worked in a number of NHS Podiatry departments in North Yorkshire, Norfolk and Hertfordshire. He completed a Prescription only Medicine for Podiatrists certification from Cardiff Metropolitan University and a Post Grad Certificate in Skin Integrity Skills & Trearment from the University of Hertfordshire. In 1999 he entered full time private practice in Bishop's Stortford.
Mr. Handford is registered with the HCPC (no CH11999), a member of the College of Podiatry (formally The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists) and a member of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.
Mr. Handford served as an elected member of council of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (2010-2017), 2 years as a Vice President, a founding trustee of the College of Podiatry with roles that included the setting of national guidelines for Podiatry. He has also served on a Health Education England advisory committee regarding foot health provision and standards.
He is committed to the future of Podiatry and has mentored a number of new graduates within his practice.
He is experienced in all aspects of general Podiatry and able to manage painful Ingrowing Toe Nails conservatively and surgically.
