Dr Cameron graduated in 2001 from the University of Glasgow having obtained degrees in Immunology and Medicine. General training was in Glasgow followed by specialist training in both Edinburgh and The West of Scotland. Sub-specialist training in airways inflammation led to the award of PhD with several peer-reviewed publications. Specialist Certification in Respiratory Medicine was obtained in 2010.
Having joined the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2004, he was elevated to Fellow in 2014. Dr Cameron is also a member of the examining board of the Royal College of Physicians and continues to train and supervise junior doctors at all stages.
Dr Cameron was appointed as a Consultant in General Internal and Respiratory Medicine in August 2014 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. He provides care in all areas of respiratory disease and has sub-specialist interests in pleural disease and asthma. He continues to develop these services and drive change in the organisation.
In addition to a busy clinical workload, Dr Cameron continues to undertake research, again related to his sub-specialist areas.
