About me

Mr Hide Yamamoto is a consultant urological surgeon at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital NHS Trust. His practice encompasses all areas of general urology with specific interests in robotic cancer surgery, MRI-guided transperineal prostate biopsy, bladder cancer surgery, and holmium laser prostate surgery.

He attended Cambridge University to read Medicine graduating in 2002. He has a PhD in prostate cancer from UCL funded by a British Urological Foundation scholarship.

His postgraduate urological training took place within the South Thames Rotation which included Guy's Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital, and King's College London Hospital. During this time he undertook training in all areas of general urology including subspecialty training in uro-oncology, andrology, stone surgery, and transplant urology.

He also held a joint position during this clinical training as an Academic Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London and participated in translational research in prostate and bladder cancer whilst also supervising MSc and BSc science projects in urological cancers.

He is the current lead for the urgent referral pathways for prostate and bladder cancer in the Trust and also the lead for education in the department.
