About me

I trained as a doctor in Manchester, graduating in 2003 with Honours. During my medical degree I also obtained a First Class Honours BSc in Physiology. My cardiology specialist training included time in Manchester, London and at the National Institutes of Health in the USA. I was awarded a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine in 2013.

I am currently a Consultant Cardiologist at Wythenshawe Hospital where I lead the cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease) service, lead the heart failure with preserved ejection fraction service and perform heart imaging diagnostic tests including cardiac MRI and CT scanning.

I also lead a heart research group that aims to improve the diagnosis of heart conditions and better guide their management, and evaluate new treatments for heart conditions. I have published research papers widely and regularly give invited talks around the world.

Most of my time outside work is spent looking after our 8 year old twin boys and 4 year old daughter.
