About me

I trained in London and qualified from the Middlesex Hospital in 1981. My specialist training in gynaecology was in London/Dublin and Wessex.
I have over 25 years experience in gynaecology and have been an NHS consultant for 16 years.

My main area of expertise is in benign gynaecology and I am Lead for Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery at Weston General Hospital. I am also lead for the Gynaecological Cancer Unit at Weston General.

I use evidence-based treatments and offer modern, cost effective and comprehensive personalised care for all of my patients. When surgery is required I undertake most cases using minimal access (key hole) techniques i.e. laparoscopy and/or hysteroscopy.

Minimal access surgery is associated with reduced complications, less post-operative discomfort, shortened hospital stay and a quick return to normal activities for the majority of women. In particular, if hysterectomy is required for heavy periods/fibroids when other methods have not been effective I undertake laparoscopic/vaginal hysterectomy in >85% of cases.
