Overview

About me

For the last 16 years I have been working as a professional counsellor of adults, young people and children.

I practice EMDR, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and long term Integrative therapy.

During a first meeting, together we will decide whether I can be of any help with the difficulties that you are experiencing. I am very experienced in working with a broad range of issues, life experiences and backgrounds and I seek to understand everyone as an individual - with their own unique way of living and experiencing the world.
I work in a comfortable, confidential room in central Canterbury, adjacent to a large public car park.
I can offer daytime and evening appointments.

I am trained in EMDR - a treatment method for reprocessing traumatic memories and for successfully treating addictions, negative self beliefs and many other issues that stop individuals from leading happy and fulfilling lives.

I have training in CBT and Solution Focussed approaches - both short term ways of working with particular issues. I have two years experience working as a Counsellor in an IAPT (Improved Access to Psychological Therapies) service, using these particular approaches effectively, within a small time frame, to address issues such as anxiety, depression, addictions, obsessions, phobias and low self-esteem.

I have had 4 years of experience of assessing and counselling children and young people within CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and receive regular counselling supervision and EMDR supervision.
