About me

I am a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine at the English Institute of Sport in Manchester and am the England Netball Chief Medical Officer. I have previously worked with elite athletes in Football as the 1st team Dr at Everton FC, Swimming, Athletics and Rugby League and am currently Team Dr at Toronto Wolfpack RLFC – the worlds’ first transatlantic sports team. My NHS practice is the Joint Health Integrated Musculoskeletal service at Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust.
My practice covers any form of sports injury, musculoskeletal complaint or exercise related medical problem; I am passionate about providing an elite level of healthcare to all my patients, irrespective of their ability or level of sport, physical activity and work.
I firmly believe in the importance of providing an accurate diagnosis and individualised management plan and place great importance in working alongside other healthcare professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team in order to achieve that. I work to optimise rehabilitation and utilise treatments such as Ultrasound guided injections and Shockwave therapy if appropriate. I use Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in my daily practice and aim to provide a one stop clinic of clinical assessment, diagnostics and treatment.
