About me

I am a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine and a Musculoskeletal Physician.
I work in elite sport, the NHS and private practice in Manchester and Wirral.
I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic sports injuries, musculoskeletal problems and exercise related medical conditions.
I am passionate about providing an elite level of healthcare to all my patients, irrespective of their ability or level of sport, physical activity and work.
I firmly believe in the importance of providing an accurate diagnosis and individualised management plan and place great importance in working alongside other healthcare professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team in order to achieve that. I work to optimise non-surgical management options for my patients and utilise treatments such as Ultrasound guided injections and Shockwave therapy if appropriate. I use Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in my daily practice to enhance my clinical assessment.
I am the lead Sports Physician at the English Institute of Sport in Manchester and am the Team Sports Physician for the 2018 Commonwealth Gold medal winning Netball team the Vitality Roses. I also work as Team Physician for EF Education - EasyPost, providing medical care at races in the UCI World Tour. My NHS practice is the Joint Health Integrated Musculoskeletal service at Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust.
