About me

My commitment and passion for working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy is first and foremost what you can feel confident in. I strongly believe people can achieve the changes they want to make in their lives through the process of talking to another in a safe non-judgemental environment. I have extensive experience of working with both adults and children and was based within a Children and Adolescent mental health team for five years, and in adult mental health settings.

This is Me......Counselling is named so because at some point in many of our lives we come to a time when we may feel the need to seek help because we have lost a sense of who we are or what we want from life. My aim is to help you discover who you really are. So that you can feel confident in saying This is Me.

I am trained to listen and communicate in a way that helps you get to the very root of your emotional difficulties. Through this process many clients find that this helps alleviate their emotional distress. As a therapist I can provide a relationship that differs from other sources of support such as friends or family. Having somebody who is totally separate from your everyday life can provide support that is non-judgemental, confidential and can be led by your agenda. My genuinely warm and friendly personality make the helping process a natural profession for me to work in, this in turn helps clients feel at ease. My aim is to help you get to a point where you feel happier and more in control of your life, working towards your goals in collaboration with me.

I have trained as an integrative counsellor and am fully qualified in MSc Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (incorporating PG Cert/PG Dip) (BACP Accredited). I strongly believe that integrative counselling has a huge advantage to the way that I practice as it means I can tailor my therapeutic approach to suit the needs of my clients. I believe that we as individuals need to have a therapeutic approach that will best serve our needs and integrative counselling can provide this.

Areas of interest

Integrative counselling is when a collaboration of distinct models of counselling and psychotherapy are used together. My training is focused on person centred, cognitive behaviour (CBT) and attachment theory.
