About me

I am an accredited counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I have over 14 years experience working as a qualified counsellor, primarily within GP Practices and associated NHS organisations. More recently I provided specialist Counselling and psychological care for individuals and their families within a Hospice setting. I have experience of working with a wide spectrum of psychological difficulties and a strong interest working with people who are experiencing the psychological and physical impact of change and loss.
I have extensive training in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic approaches and theories and I am committed to updating my professional and personal development on a regular basis. I abide to the Values and Principles of the BACP Ethical Framework.

About the therapy I provide:-

I can offer prompt appointments following your enquiry, usually within a couple of working days.
I believe my role is to work with people in a process of self discovery and understanding. This may relate to many aspects of a persons' life or be triggered by experiences such as loss, change or past-trauma. Sometimes there is a less tangible, but important need to gain more insight in order to be able to live life to its full potential.

It isn’t always an easy task to access counselling or find the right therapist for your needs. At your initial appointment we can discuss how counselling may be helpful to you and if it would be beneficial to make further appointments. Although I have specified particular areas of interest, I also work with a wide spectrum of difficulties and work with each person on an individual basis.

My Practice is based at Wellforce in Central Sheffield. I can offer a confidential, comfortable and accessible space to meet. I do have regular daytime appointments, however I can also arrange flexible evening appointments if necessary. There is available parking on site and a welcoming reception and waiting area.
