Dr Khan is a highly experienced pain management specialist and has been practising as a consultant in Anaesthesia & pain management since 2014 in NHS Tayside. Dr Khan was awarded with his MBBS from Bangalore University in 1995 and MD (Anaesthesiology) from Rajiv Gandhi University in 2004. He becomes Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2009 and Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2013.
Dr Khan is an integral member of a multidisciplinary team in NHS Tayside, working with surgeons, physiotherapists and psychologists and uses the biopsychosocial model for managing chronic pain patients, this assumes that in order to determine the state of an individual's health; biological, psychological (emotions, thoughts and behaviour) and social (socio economic, socio-environmental) health must be taken into consideration. Being honorary lecturer in Dundee University, he is regularly involved in teaching and training medical students and Anaesthesia trainees.
