As an Accredited qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I recognize it can be difficult to talk about sensitive and personal issues. However I am trained to listen to you whilst offering a non-judgmental, respectful, confidential and professional service to enable you to explore and process your thoughts in your own time. Perhaps you have been feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious or distressed, maybe your thoughts and feelings seem unclear?

Alternatively you maybe experiencing work place stress/anxiety, bullying, anger, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, low self-esteem,suicidal thoughts, depression, relationship/family or health related issues, a bereavement or misusing substances or alcohol as a coping mechanism?

I offer you the opportunity to talk through these sensitive issues to gain an understanding of what is happening to you and if you so wish to implement positive changes.

Why choose me?

My formal business background included working as a metropolitan officer officer in London for seven years. Other employment has included working in a women's refuge and as a youth worker with a local authority. I spent five years working as a registered social worker in children and family services and in partnership with the NHS as part of the adult community mental health team.
Throughout my vast and varied experiences, I have gained insight and strong awareness of human psychological capability in demanding circumstances. I have continuously worked with people of all ages from various social, cultural and diverse backgrounds.

As an experienced and accredited counsellor I have worked worked in an assortment of of professional workplace settings which have included my private practice, school counselling, experience with the child adolescent mental health team (CAMHS), experience working with individuals who misuse substances and alcohol, eighteen months voluntary work with adults and children who have been raped or sexually abused.

I am registered with the organisation PODS (positive outcomes for dissociative survivors) as a therapist who has completed specific trauma training.

I have a current DBS

I am competent when completing initial and risk assessments ensuring the clients safety is paramount. Through the employer assisted programme (EAP) and telephone counselling I have considerable experience within the workplace setting. I am approved and trusted by private healthcare providers.
I work in an anti oppressive and anti discriminatory manner and embrace diversity and equality. I do not use a purist approach of any one therapy, but a combination of various approaches to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can help you manage your problems by by changing the way you think and behave. It is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle.
