I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

Mr Hemal Mehta is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Hemal Mehta specialises in medical retina conditions (e.g. age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease) and cataract surgery. He also participates in the general ophthalmology on call rota at a busy London teaching hospital managing a wide range of ocular pathology. The clinical research during his fellowships at Sydney Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital is the basis of his MD thesis on ‘Novel endpoints in diabetic retinopathy clinical trials’ registered at Cambridge University. He is the Lead for Ophthalmic Clinical Trials Research in his Trust, evaluating emerging therapies, particularly for retinal diseases.
