About me

Dr Hynes studied Medicine at the Queen`s University of Belfast and graduated in 1997. She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and was admitted to the GMC Specialist Register in 2005. She is an Adult Psychiatrist and also holds an endorsement in Addictions Psychiatry. Dr Hynes has been working as a Consultant since 2005. Her work is based in Acute Psychiatry with a patient-centred approach. For each individual patient, this includes timely assessment, diagnosis and a comprehensive treatment plan which focuses on recovery and the prevention of relapse.

Dr Hynes has extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of all forms of Mental Illness in Adults including (but not limited to) schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder,depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders and obsessional disorders. Since her graduation, in addition to working in Northern Ireland, Dr Hynes has spent 4 years working and training in mental health services in London and Melbourne, Australia and has gained invaluable experience and perspective in the treatment of adults with serious mental illness.
