I obtained my primary medical qualification at the University of Cape Town graduating with First Class Honors and spent two years working in South Africa before completing my initial training in Anaesthetics at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Subsequent to this I trained in Anaesthesia in the Northwestern Deanery obtaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2004. In 2008 I obtained entry to the Faculty of Pain Medicine as a Fellow. I am a Consultant in Pain Medicine at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. I work in a multi-disciplinary team specialising in the outpatient management of many chronic pain syndromes, including back pain, whiplash, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain. I am the Clinical Lead for the Spinal Cord Stimulator service. I am also involved in the management of complex pain presentations in inpatients.
