About me

I am a qualified CBT Psychotherapist with a Post graduate certificate and Diploma in CBT, as well as a Msc in CBT. I am also a qualified EMDR practitioner.

I specialise in treating symptoms of trauma and anxiety in relation to pregnancy related trauma and birth trauma. This includes treating the symptoms of trauma as a result of IVF treatments, pregnancy loss, traumatic birth experiences and pregnancy after care.

My work also includes working with other issues that have developed as a result of the trauma experiences, such as low self esteem that may present it self at work, home and within relationships, issues managing stress and difficulties in making plans for the future.

I use evidence approaches of CBT and EMDR. These therapeutic approaches have been approved by NICE guidelines to help treat trauma and anxiety. With my own experience of pregnancy and birth related trauma and many years of working with women and their families, I am aware of the emotional, physical and relationship impact of trauma.

My work not only supports the women who have experienced the aforementioned trauma’s, but also their partners and professionals who have been involved in the care of the mother. I believe my approach is client focused. I believe I am a warm, caring, empathetic and genuine individual, which helps the person coming to therapy to be able to process their trauma, make sense of it and establish a new balanced “normal” that’s allows them to live a more purposeful life.

Please note my specialism is working with women, partners and professionals who have experienced a single event trauma. I do not work with individuals who have a history of complex / childhood trauma or who have a history of long term PTSD in relation to other issues.

All sessions are currently taking place online with video calling.
