Dr Thomas Bourke BMedSc, MB BAO BCH, MRCPCH, MD, DipEd
Dr Bourke is a consultant acute paediatrician at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and honorary lecturer in child health at Queen’s University Belfast.
He graduated from UCD in 2000 and trained as an acute and general paediatrician in Ireland, Australia and the UK.
In NHS practice he manages a broad range of acute and chronic problems in outpatient clinics and the paediatric emergency department.
His QUB Doctoral research project on improving diagnosis of meningitis and blood infection was recently published in The Lancet Infectious Disease. He is an expert advisor to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and helped develop the national guideline for Bronchiolitis.
