I am a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor with a private practice in Bexhill-On-Sea. Problems can arise in our lives at any time, making it difficult for us to cope. I provide a safe, confidential environment, where you will not be judged, in which you can explore the areas of your life you may be having difficulty with and may want to change, such as; relationship issues, problems in the workplace, anxiety, depression.
I trained as a humanistic integrative counsellor. As a humanistic counsellor I believe that all human beings are striving to grow in a positive direction and want to be the best they can be. However, at times circumstances prevent us from doing this and we need an independent trained person to help us work through life's problems. Although people may experience similar problems, for example, stress, anxiety, abuse, depression, trauma, etc., we will all react in different ways and so there is not one single counselling approach that is better than another. As an integrative counsellor I believe counselling is led by the client and I will tailor my approach to the individual needs of the client and treat you as a unique human being.
I use an integrative approach to counselling, drawing on a number of different models to facilitate change, such as Rogers' Person Centred, Transactional Analysis (TA),Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I specialise in working with trauma and I am trained in trauma-focused CBT and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) which are evidence-based treatments recommended by The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, (NICE).
My practice is situated in a peaceful and relaxed environment with free off road parking.
