I currently hold a post in NHS Education for Scotland responsible for delivering training and supervision across Scotland in a variety of psychological interventions.
Until recently I was the clinical psychologist in the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit of the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. I worked therapeutically with individuals with a range of conditions such as HIV, Hepatitis and chronic fatigue syndrome/ME.
I have research interests and experience in the following:
1) Psychological adjustment to chronic physical health conditions;
2) The effect of mental and physcial health problems on cognitive funcitoning;
2) The influence of expecations of therapy on engagement with therapy and outcome:
3) The role of self-efficacy in outcome from self help interventions
I enjoy sports such as mountain biking, springboard diving and hockey, and like to travel when work permits.
