Mr Dave Spellman qualified as Clinical Psychologist in 1988 and has worked in the NHS ever since. Dave draws on a range of approaches but puts relationships at the centre of his work, so he is comfortable working across the age range with individuals, couples and families as well as staff groups and organisations. He has trained as a systemic therapist and also a systemic supervisor but also has training in Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Narrative and other strengths based approaches. Dave is a UKCP registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. Working with local authority staff, social workers, children looked after and adopted has been a particular area of interest in recent years. In addition to a range of psychological therapies Dave is keen to draw on his knowledge and expertise to a wide range of contexts and this includes offering training, supervision and consultation to those seeking help. Dave is also approved by the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) as a supervisor of Family and Systemic Psychotherapists and therefore can provide accredited supervison for qualified family therapists.
