About me

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, UKCP registered, working with patients confidentially and expertly across Kent and the South East from my practice in the heart of Rochester. I bring to private practice over six years working within the NHS and over nine practising successfully as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist treating patients from all walks of life.

What I do is to effectively support you in understanding how and why you may be repeatedly experiencing situations and events that feel to be upsetting, destructive, conflictual or simply preventing you from experiencing life simply, joyfully and without struggle.

My disposition is warm and sympathetic and combined with extensive clinical skill and knowledge promotes significant transformation and change. Undergoing such change can at times feel challenging and may feel uneasy as you learn new ways to think about yourself and the world about you, but is a process that will ultimately liberate you from suffering.

In treatment with me you will begin to feel in control of your life again, enjoy satisfaction, handle problems effectively and feel optimistic. Your life will begin to feel productive again, relationships will improve or change reflecting a healthier, happier you.

What is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is at its best with questions about life & love relationships, and feelings of emptiness or lacking purpose. Challenges such as life transitions, sexuality, relationship struggles and emotional imbalance can be difficult to resolve without professional guidance. If you are struggling with reaching your fullest potential, psychotherapy can help to bring your worries to light.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is often the best and longest lasting approach. It gets to the roots of negative patterns of thoughts, behaviours and feelings and changes basic neurological wiring over time and treatment course and especially helpful if:

You feel diminished in confidence and self worth
If you have ongoing struggles with anxiety and depression
If you experience upset over your sexual life
If you experience anger and fear as overwhelming
Patients describe the psychotherapy experience with me as awakening, life changing and pivotal to moving forward to a better quality of life. Through an exploration of past and present using clinically proven techniques, my work with you is to find relief, freedom and healthy change.

It can often feel unnerving taking those first steps to solicit help, rest assured we can discuss your concerns in a way that will help you decide whether treatment with me is something you wish to begin.
