About me

Dr Hayat grew up in Buckinghamshire before completing his medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine. He completed his specialist gastroenterology training in London, during which he undertook an MD research degree into the use of advanced diagnostic techniques in upper GI disease presenting his work nationally and internationally and publishing in a number of high impact scientific journals.
Dr Hayat runs a specialist clinic for patients with upper GI problems such as reflux disease and swallowing disorders. He runs the GI physiology lab at St George's Hospital performing high resolution oesophageal manometry and ambulatory impedance-pH monitoring as well as being an experienced JAG accredited endoscopist.
His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of patients with altered bowel habit including detection and assessment of irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal cancer.
