About me
My career started as a British Petroleum Company scholar at Clare College Cambridge, reading Control Engineering. I graduated in 1970. I then worked for BP at Sunbury Research Centre and subsequently at BP head office in Moorgate, London and in the North Sea on Forties Field oil production platforms.
In 1975, I decided that surgery would offer greater challenges and satisfaction !
I was accepted to train in medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. I qualified in 1980 passing University of London MB and Royal College Conjoint examinations.
I received basic surgical training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Singleton & Morriston Hospitals, Swansea.
I subsequently undertook specialist training in Orthopaedics & Trauma at The London Hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre,Nottingham and St George’s Hospital London.
Before commencing Consultant practice, I took a specialist fellowship in knee & arthroscopic surgery in Melbourne, Australia with Mr John Bartlett.
Since 1993, I have practiced orthopaedics as a full time NHS Consultant and also in private practice at the BMI Chiltern Hospital.
