About me

Mr Russell Pearson has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Oldchurch Hospital and Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 1991. He specialises in cataract surgery. He graduated in medicine from the Royal London Hospital Medical College in 1980. He trained as a Registrar, Senior Registrar and Research Fellow in Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and Member American Academy of Ophthalmologists (AAO), Member European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), Member American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), Member United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS), Member European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA), Member United Kingdom and Ireland Glaucoma Society (UKEGS).
He has a special interest in modern cataract surgery and intraocular lens implants, glaucoma and retinal diseases.
