About me

Dr Qurrat van den Blink is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in providing Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SABR) to patients with lung cancer and for metastatic disease from all tumour sites affecting the liver, bone, lymph nodes and spine. She specialises in providing chemotherapy and radiotherapy for head and neck cancers and palliative radiotherapy for all cancer sub-sites.

Dr Qurrat graduated from Liverpool University medical School in 2003 obtaining a MBCHB with honours. After completion of general medical training she started specialist training in Clinical Oncology in the Northwest, including training at the Christie Hospital, Manchester and Rosemere Cancer centre in Preston.

In 2013 Dr Qurrat undertook a clinical research fellowship at The Princess Margaret Cancer centre in Toronto, gaining clinical expertise in lung radiation oncology, image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiotherapy for lung cancer and lung metastases.

Her research projects included a review of outcomes for stereotactic radiotherapy in lung metastases and the use of PET imaging during chemoradiotherapy for lung cancer.

Dr Qurrat has continued to pursue her interest in stereotactic radiotherapy and undertook further experience with world leading experts at Princess Margaret Cancer centre, Toronto in June 2015.
